Summary[edit]

Description
English: Main Street, possibly Dungannon, Co. Tyrone.

[/photos/8468254@N02/ derangedlemur] with customary speed identifies this photo as Donaghmore, not Dungannon as our Catalogue suggests.

Did you know that as per the 1911 census there was a Donaghmore, in Tyrone, Down, Meath, Queens County (Laois) and Wicklow, is this a record?

I am surprised that there was no comment on the shop sign "Emigration Agency" which is clearly visible in this photo.

I have visited the Donaghmore Famine Workhouse Museum in Co. Laois, and it was well worth the visit. The Museum aims to tell the story of the families who lived and died within the Famine Workhouse walls before, during and after the Great Famine.
