Description

Premiären för kryssingsarrangören Pullmantur att angöra Malmös nya kryssningsterminal med kryssningsfartyget Empress den 11 maj 2013 innebär även högtryck för Malmö Airport vid Sturup. Vid tretiden på eftermiddagen den 11 maj slog Malmö Airport nytt rekord med 1.800 passagerare som passerade terminalbyggnaden under en timme. Varannan lördag mellan 11 maj och 14 september landar Pullmantur Airs två Boeing 747 jumbo jet samt fyra Airbus från flygbolagen Vueling och Iberia för att lämna och hämta passagerare som bussas direkt till/från kryssningsterminalen som drivs av Malmö och Københavns gemensamma hamnbolag Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP. Enligt CMP krävs det 70 bussar samt 25 spansktalande guider för att köra passagerna till fartyget samt guida dem i Skåne och på Sjælland. För Malmö Airport innebär kryssningsflyget cirka 35.000 kommande och avresande resenärer under 2013.
