snyitch ties 2, 3, etc., to the last switch tie in each switch. Ifthe length of each switch tie is not already marked upon its end,the foreman should have them so marked. If any ordinary cross ties i are required between switches, the position of each should be indi-cated by a mark; but it is needless to number these marks, since all I such ties are the same length. Undoubtedly the foreman will be pro-vided with a book of rules vj-hich states the number, length and spac-ing of the ties in different switches. Pig. 2, page 20, shows, forexample, the position of the ties in a switch having a No. 7 frog, I In the figure these ties are numbered consecutively, beginning with 1 at the head block.
