Votre numero du figaro 11 novembre contient des inexactitudes que je dois relever
1 je n’ai pas dit : le commandant du John Elder [sic] [usual spelling: Helder] est mêlé à cette une histoire que nous garderons pour rire avec nos amis quand nous aurons le temps mais : le commandant du John Elder sait cette histoire, ce qui est bien différent. Ce n’est pas moi qui mêlerais à des choses bouffonnes les anglais qui ont reçu nos proscrits et ne les rendraient jamais. Voilà pourquoi je tiens à l’insertion de ma lettre
