Description
Français : Marmande - Église Notre-Dame - Retable de saint Benoît - Tableau sculpté avec deux scènes : à gauche, Saint Benoît est dans une grotte avec devant une croix et une tête de mort sur un rocher. Un livre est ouvert sur le genou gauche. A droite, saint Benoît ayant quitté ses parents est initié à la vie érémitique par un anachorète. S'étant retiré dans une grotte, il est alimenté par son vieux maître qui lui fait passer un panier muni d'une cloche pour le prévenir. Le diable essaya de le faire quitter la grotte en le privant de nourriture mais ne réussit pas à couper la corde.
