English: "Oliver", the mascot of USCGC NORTHWIND (WAGB-282). "Oliver" was born in NORTHWIND while the ship was at Greenland. "Oliver's" mother was "Dagmar", the previous mascot. "Oliver" was retired due to length of service in 1954, to a farm in Oregon state USA. He was relieved by "Rosie". |
