Notes Belgium Order of Leopold II - Knight Alexander Manuel Ferguson, DSO, MC, ED. Orders- Belgium Order of Leopold II Alexander Manuel Ferguson was Belgian Consul in Auckland from 1910, a role inherited from his father-in-law John Burns. During WW1 Alex Ferguson played a major role in organising fundraising for Belgium, and some of the honours bestowed upon him reflected his work in this area. Following Ferguson's death in 1942 his son, Lt Col. John Burns Ferguson, took up the role of Belgian Consul.
