Notes Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the British Empire- Neck Badger Awarded to Donald Petrie Simson in 1939 Lieut. (later Sir) Donald Petrie Simson, served in South Africa with the 8th Contingent NZMER (and later with King Edward's Horse) and in the First World War with the New Zealand Engineers. He was instrumental in establishing the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association.
