Notes WW2 medal set awarded to Jean Begg. 8 miniature medals- CBE; 1939-45 Campaign Star; Africa Campaign Star and 8th Army bar; Burma Campaign Star; Italy Campaign Star; War Medal 1939-45 with oak leaf clasp; GV Jubilee medal; GV Coronation medal Belonged to Jean Rewa Begg CBE Jean Begg was General Secretary of New Zealand YWCA from 1926. Begg fostered the formation of women's sports organisations and championed feminist causes through the YWCA. She served at different times as vice-president of the Auckland branch of the National Council of women of New Zealand, the YWCA General Secretary for India, Burma and Ceylon, and Director of British YWCA war services during WW2.
