Français : Reproduction d'après Louis Léopold Boilly: Jean Antoine Houdon modelant le buste de Bonaparte Premier Consul, huile sur toile exécutée vers 1802 - 1803, 56,5 x 46,5 cm et conservée au Musée du Louvre appartient à une série d'études préparatoires réalisées par Boilly pour un tableau présenté au Salon de 1804 aujourd'hui connu sous le titre L'Atelier de Houdon. Un buste consulaire en terre cuite est mentionné dans le catalogue de la vente après décès (1828) de Houdon. Il est aujourd'hui perdu (source: www.napoleon.org). Un buste comparable figure dans le portrait intitulé Letizia Ramolino Bonaparte, dite madame Mère réalisé en 1804 par François Gérard, conservé aux National Galleries Scotland à Edimbourg dont une copie signée et datée "Pierre-Edmond Martin, septembre 1810" se trouve au Palais de Caserta en Italie (Gérard Hubert, Guy Ledoux-Lebard: Napoléon: portraits contemporains, bustes et statues, Athena, 1999).
