| Description |
English: Milo Herbert "Doc" Fritz (1909–2000) was an American physician and politician. Born in Massachusetts, Fritz came to Alaska during the 1940s and established a medical practice in Anchorage, Alaska. Fritz began flying to remote settlements to provide medical services, in particular the Kenai Peninsula in the days before the Sterling Highway provided the western peninsula a road connection to the outside world. Fritz was elected in 1966 and 1972 to single terms in the Alaska House of Representatives representing Anchorage. He later retired from the medical profession and moved to Anchor Point, Alaska, where he was elected to another term in the House, losing reelection to Libertarian Andre Marrou. One of Anchor Point's main streets was named in his honor. |
