On November 4, 2015, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA�s Aqua satellite flew over Central Europe and captured this true-color image of a clear fall day across the region.

Description
English: On November 4, 2015, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA�s Aqua satellite flew over Central Europe and captured this true-color image of a clear fall day across the region. The most striking features of this image are the rugged mountains that stretch across Central Europe. The curving, dark green range near the center of the image are the Carpathian Mountains. They begin in the Czech Republic then curve southeast into Romania. In Romania the eastern end of the Transylvania Alps. In the southeast, the Balkan Mountains stretch across Bulgaria from the southeast Serbian border to the Black Sea. Numerous fires are scattered across the region, each marked by a red hotspot. Gray smoke rises from most of the fires. A small bank of low cloud (fog) lies over the plains of Hungary.
