All of the people in this Home have led busy, honest, Christianlives, and have only reached their present condition of povertythrough misfortune or death of relatives. All are educated, re-fined, cleanly people, all industrious in their feeble way. A largegarden, a flock of chickens and a large yard keep the old men busywhile the old ladies, with the help of a good matron, attend to theduties of the house, as well as making quilts, doing patching andcaring for babies for the neighbors: Until November, 1919, the residence at 2103 West Okmulgeewas rented to house these old people. They were cramped for roomand at that time the property at 328 Callahan Street was purchasedfor $10,000. This house contains seventeen rooms at the presenttime and is surrounded by a lot 200 feet square; has a good gardenspot and many shade and fruit bearing trees. In some cases anold person is able to pay a small sum for her or his care in the MUSKOGEE DAY NURSERY

The public spirited people of Muskogee have upheld thisactivity from its start and have been most generous in giving tothis worthy object and by their generosity we have been able tomake the declining years of so many old people more pleasant andcomfortable. THE DAY NURSERY The Day Nursery has just closed another year and has provedits usefulness in such a creditable manner that the publicwill realize its vast importance as long as such an institution isneeded. When mothers must work, some organization must carefor the children. The Nursery meets many emergencies. It servesthe Juvenile Court many times in caring for some child until finaldisposition can be made of it. Sometimes it is a constant factor ina childs life, but in any and every case the workers at the Nurserygive the children under their care good food, fresh air, sunshineand sl
