Summary[edit]

Description
Српски / srpski: Srpska narodna nošnja zauzima istaknuto mesto u kulturi i tradiciji srpskog naroda.
English: Serbian folk costume occupies a prominent place in the culture and tradition of the Serbian people. Its role throughout history is very important as a symbol of ethnic identity, and it also stands out for its artistic and aesthetic values. We have mostly received preserved clothing items from the 19th and the first decades of the 20th century, with various shapes and decorations in both women's and men's costumes. Each area inhabited by Serbs throughout history was characterized by a special costume.
