Summary[edit]

Description
English: No.60163 "Tornado" at Medstead & Four Marks, Hampshire No.60163 “Tornado”. Completed in 2008, “Tornado” was the first mainline steam locomotive to be built, in Britain, for nearly 60 years. It is the 50th Peppercorn A1 Pacific loco; the first 49 having been scrapped, after the end of mainline steam.

Working towards 90 mph mainline running; its first visit to the Mid Hants Railway, for the Spring Gala 2010, saw more leisurely running, over this heavily graded line.

I had a 50mm lens on the camera. Perceived wisdom is that a wide angle lens gives an image which is too stretched. The photographers, on the platform, are what other photographers would term "rivet counters"; i.e. they are standing close enough to be able to count the rivets on the loco!
