Summary[edit]

Description
English: Nottingham (Midland) railway station, 1979
Opened in 1848 by the Midland Railway Company on the line from Derby to Lincoln (amongst others), replacing an earlier station on the west side of Carrington Street.

View east at a time when the former Great Central Railway bridge was still in place, showing how dark and gloomy the station used to be. The bridge was taken down in the early 1980s - only for a replacement one for the trams to be erected in the same place in 2013!

For a contrasting view some 43 years later, see SK5739 : Nottingham (Midland) railway station.
