DescriptionOYME - Келу (Birch) a cappella.webm |
== English: The vocalists of the OYME band sing the Moksha folk song Kelu. The song belongs to the genre-mythological. The song's lyrics are about the structure of the world. Kelu in translation from the Moksha language means birch. According to the worldview of Mokshan, the birch is a sacred tree, as well as the center of the world. The space of the world is three-stage: the sky, where the gods live, the middle world, which is inhabited by people and deities, and the lower world - the world of the ancestors. This worldview is typical for the Finno-Ugric peoples of the world. Birch has magical properties: at its foot flows a healing stream. After drinking the water, the blind become sighted, the deaf begin to hear, and the legless begin to walk on their own feet.
