Our Heroes of the Grid Boys, youve been loyal to us in the past;Yes, youve stood firm in defeat,But many the time you were valiantly massed,And victory lay at your feet. It was then that we cheered all our might for you, boys,It was then that our hearts filled with pride,For dim through the dust and the din and the noiseWe could see victory sway to our side. But boys, we should know youve been staunch in the past; Defeat may loom gloomy and gray, But never despairing, should cheer to the last, Though others may carry the day. Then hear while we toast to your fortune and health:—May your lives all be happy and long;Though fortune may never will all of you wealth,May she smile on you all with a song.
