Le vol cle cet Oiseau est brusque et saccadé ; sa nourritureconsiste en insectes, en chenilles quil cherche avec soin dans les paquets clefeuilles sèches où elles pensent avoir trouvé une retraite sûre ; il aime tous lesfruits contenant des amandes, et ne dédaigne pas ceux qui sont pulpeux, lorsmême que la substance douce se trouve renfermée dans une enveloppe dure,quil sait fort bien diviser à coups de bec, en tenant le fruit sous les pattes. Le chant cle cet Oiseau nest pas harmonieux; cest une suite de crisdiscordans jetés au hazard par un individu placé au haut dun arbre, et auquelrépondent les autres membres de la société qui sont constamment placés plus bas.Le Geai Houjopette habite les provinces de Goyaz et de Matto-Grosso.
