Description

Page 141 of 'A Treatise on Corns, Bunions, the Diseases of Nails, and the General Management of the Feet' by Lewis Durlacher. Durlacher was surgeon chiropodist to Queen Victoria. On this page he describes regularly paring down the nail of the great toe of his late Majesty, George IV. The king became impatient with Durlacher's gentle ministrations and decided to rip the painful nail off himself.
