Diese Inschrift
sei jedem, der sie liest
ehrwürdig.
Denn hier wurde von den ersten Fürsten
Deutschlands und ihren Abgeordneten der
Passauer Vertrag
vom 22ten Mai bis 7ten August
1552
verhandelt und geschlossen, der
die Fackel des damals wüthenden
Religions-Kriegs
erstickte
und
den ersten Grundstein
zur Christlichen
Religions Duldung
legte.
Diesem wichtigen und würdigen
Angedenken widmete diesen Stein
Graf Joseph
Starhemberg Domherr
zu Salzburg und Passau
dermaliger Inhaber dieses Kanonikatshofes
im Jahre
1790.
