Title
English: Piers for the West Spokane Street Bridge, Seattle, October 22, 1923
Description
English: From 1902 to 1917, three bridges were built to serve West Seattle (which was annexed in 1907); unfortunately, none of these were permanent structures. This photograph depicts construction of the first steel bridge, officially known as West Spokane Street Bridge No. 1 (North). This bridge was finally completed in 1924; its sister bridge, West Spokane Street Bridge No. 2 (South) opened in September of 1930.
