Français : Place Royale, Québec, vers 1900, carte postale
« Louis XIV n’a pas toujours trôné au centre de la place Royale. C’est en 1686 que l’intendant Bochart de Champigny y fait installer un buste pour que les Canadiens puissent voir leur souverain. Vers 1700, il est retiré parce qu’il nuisait à la circulation. Il est perdu définitivement lors de l’incendie du Palais de l’Intendant en 1713. Entre 1895 et 1931, c’est une fontaine qui occupait l’endroit. Le buste actuel n’a été mis en place qu’en 1931. » – Société historique de Québec
