Summary[edit]

Description
English: Plaque about Garden Island on the Rockingham Waterfront Pioneer Rotary Walk in Rockingham, Western Australia. It reads,

"Garden Island After WWI the island became a holiday destination again. In 1929 Robert Bunnings acquired the lease, built huts, a hall, shops and a jetty and a boat to ferry people to the island. The island was resumed again in WWII.

There were a number of lessees of the island who rented out huts and leased land until 1981 when it was resumed for Stirling Naval Base."
