Summary

[edit]
Description
Português: Porto de Leixões, antigo guindaste do molhe norte (Titã).
English: Former north pier crane (Titan) in the harbour of Leixões, Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal. Steam-powered crane running on rails, which was mainly used for the construction and repair of the piers, but also for loading and unloading ships from 1884 onwards. The crane collapsed in 2012. The Port Authority salvaged most of the components so that the crane could be restored in 2021 with an investment of two million euros. Titan was "reborn" on the south side of Leixões harbour with many of its original parts, especially the mechanical components, and can be visited (length 69 m, height 17 m).
