Y.Gentlemen : I was profoundly shocked to learn of the death of mydear friend, Victor Georg, of Springfield, 111. Vic, as weall called him, was one of those noble, whole-souled, goodhearted fellows of the old school type ; as a point crayonartist and photographer he had few equals. His was a styleof work that was classic and upon which he built an enviousreputation, and as an executive officer of the Illinois Photog-raphers Association his presence gave prestige and forceto that organization that reflected creditably throughout theState of Illinois. His passing away only reminds us of thetruthfulness of Knox, the poet, when he says in one of hispoems, So the multitude goes like the flower and the weed That withers away to let others succeed;So the multitude comes, even those we behold,To repeat every tale that has often been told.Yours very truly, C.
