Post-medieval nut cracker
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy nut cracker arm of Post-medieval to early Modern date. The dating from the early modern period, c. 1700-1900 AD. The recieving hinge survives, the single point hinge is missing and would have been on the other arm. The arm tapers gently from the hinge down towards an acorn shaped molded terminal. The outer face is undecorated and its cross section is half a hexagon. Below this the arm is plain until the acorn molding. The inner face has fifteen triangular perforations which run in lines of three, below this the arm is plain

The artefact is 112.05mm in length, 10.9mm in width, 11.15mm thick at the hinge and weighs 26.8 grams.
