Title |
Post-medieval nut crackers (probably) |
||
Description |
English: Part of a copper-alloy object, probably the arm of a pair of nutcrackers (by reference to SUSS-0F5604 on this database). Only one arm survives. It has a flat discoidal terminal, and a circular sectioned bar which flattens into a D sectioned, wider decorative element at the other end. This is broken at the end. Both faces of the decorated area are marking with transverse incised lines; three on the flat side and two on the curved side. The patina is a grey green suggesting a high tin content. The hinge is missing at the broken end of the nut crackers. |
