Title
Post-medieval or modern lead commemorative seal or medal
Description
English: An incomplete lead or pewter object in the form of a seal. The object is pointed-oval (vesica), but only the upper half survives. The object bears a motif in the centre and an inscription around the outside. Unlike seal matricies which show these elements in negative form, the elements here are shown in positive form (that is, the inscription is the correct way round when viewed from above, and the inscription is shown in relief).

The motif in the centre depicts a rectangular structure with an apex above. At the apex is a circular object with inner crescent, perhaps representing an orb. The rectangular structure may therefore be a throne or building. The inscription around it is unclear, but may read S[ ]ILLV[ ]. The opening word may therefore be 'SIGILLVM' (seal of).

The reverse is flat, but towards the centre there is an irregular oval depression next to a raised curved area.
