Post Medieval: Commemorative medal of the Coronation of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor
Description
English: A complete silver medal of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor (AD 1640 to AD 1705), commemorating his coronation as Emperor in AD 1658. Minted in Hungary and Austria. The obverse depicts Globe surmounted by crown, flanked by two hands emerging from clouds holding sceptre and sword, eye/sun sending rays in semi-circle of cloud above. The reverse depicts a crown and the inscription. Medal has been bent into an S shape, probably for reuse as a love token.
