Description
English: A copper alloy Post Medieval commemorative medal dating to AD 1814.

The obverse depicts a left facing bust of the Emperor of Russia, Alexander with the inscription  'THE EMPEROR ALEXANDER' around the circumference. 

The reverse depicts a wreath in the centre, the right hand side of the wreath is similar to a laurel wreath and the left hand side is more like a branch. In the centre in capitals is the word 'PEACE' with the date 1814 below. Around the circumference is the inscription 'BRITISH PERSE V FRANCE THE GLORIOUS RESULT OF 

The medal has a circular piercing at 12 o'clock. The object has a dark brown coloured patina. 

The object measures 24.5 mm in diameter, 1.2 mm in thickness and weighs 3.7 grams. 

The medal celebrates the end of the war with France in AD 1814, after almost 20 years. When Britain and the coalition forces defeated Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte (AD 1769-1821). A similar medal has been recorded on the PAS database; DENO-A09E91 was discovered in Derbyshire.
