English: Studio portrait of (180) Private Joseph Allen Cordner (1890–April 1915), 6th Battalion, First AIF, taken in 1914, and supplied by his family to the Australian Red Cross Wounded and Missing Enquiry Bureau. After year's investigation it was officially announced that he had been killed in action on 25 April 1915 (shot after being separated from his Battalion at Cape Helles). He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula. |
