Procession leaving the church during the Fiesta de San Esteban (Saint Stephen), Acoma Pueblo, ca.1886
Photograph of a procession leaving the church during the Fiesta de San Esteban (Saint Stephen), Acoma Pueblo, ca.1886. The group of about 25 Acoma Indians step down the three steps before the entryway to the church. The lower half of the outside of the church wall is stuccoed and white, while the upper half is exposed adobe brick. A small mound of dirt sits on the dirt road at the foot of the steps.
