English: Myself and another teacher (who did most of the coordinating) took a group from my Math 10 Apprenticeship and Workplace to stay at the Quaaout Lodge and work with Frank Marchand on the two canoes he is working on. Frank taught the students both modern and traditional ways of building and carving. There is a 25 foot modern construction and 17 foot traditional construction going on simultaneously headed by Frank. They are both expected to be complete by June. These are the first canoes of this type built on the territory since the 1960's.
It was an amazing experience for the boys and everyone involved. The boys are following the progress closely and waiting for a chance to return and help again.
