Stamp of Romania; 1979; commemorative stamp of the issue "Preolympic Games to the XXII Summer Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow - History of the Olympic Games - Stadiums"; stamp motive with a bird's-eye view of the Stadio Olympico in Rome (Italy) as main stadium of the XVII Olympic Summer Games in 1960 (stadium built 1927-1932, officially opened in 1937, contemporary still in use); The Stadium had a capacity of 72,696 places (82,456 in 2007).; At the XVII Olympic Summer Games 1960 in Rome took place 5338 athletes.; All qualifications competitions for the XXII Olympic Summer Games 1980 in Moscow are summarized under the term "Pre-Olympic Games 1980".; Former names of this stadium: "Stadio dei Cipressi" (1927-1953) as part of the "Foro Mussolini" and "Stadio dei Centomilla" (1953-1960, literally "Stadium of the 100,000"); The main architecs of this stadium were: Ennrico del Debbio, Luigi Walter Moretti, Carlo Roccatelli, Annibal Vitellozzi and others.; This stadium was envisaged for the Olympic Summer Games 1940 (cancelled because of the WWII).; stamp as right margin piece of a sheet; mint stamp
