EXHIBIT OF AMERICAN NEGROES AT THE PARIS EXPOSITION, bore them nobly through the fight to the blackmen in the Spanish War who voluntarily wentashore in the face of the enemy and aided in therescue of tlieir wounded comrades. It was aMassachusetts lawyer who replied to the Patent-Office inquiry, I never knew a negro to inventanything but lies ; and yet here is a record of350 patents granted to black men since 1834. The bulk of tlie exhibit, is naturally, an at-tempt to picture present conditions. Thirty-twocharts, 500 photographs, and numerous mapsand plans form the basis of this exhibit. Thecharts are m two sets, one illustrating conditionsin the entire United States and the other con-ditions in the typical State of Georgia.
