Description
English: An essay about the right terminology in relation to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Hearing Disability. The correct term for people with mild to deep hearing loss is Deaf and Hard of Hearing, not Hearing Impaired nor Deaf and Mute.
עברית: מאמר על המינוח התקין ביחס לחירשות, כבדות-שמיעה, התחרשות ומוגבלות בשמיעה. המינוח התקין לאנשים עם ירידה עמוקה וקלה בשמיעה הוא חירשים וכבדי-שמיעה. ביטויים בלתי תקינים הם 'חירש-אילם', 'לקוי שמיעה', 'לא שומע' ושאר הביטויים המוצגים במאמר.
