I drove our new car, a Ford Mondeo, for the first time today. I didn't crash and it didn't breakdown. I think we'll all agree that's a pretty good result. When we went to look for it my brother was checking the breaks, the engine and under the car. I pushed it slightly and said 'Seems good'. I'd like to be able to contribute more to these situations. Instea d I pretended to check through the documentation. My brother-in-law said to me that I should only buy something I could fix myself. That would narrow my mode of transport down to a bicycle...a very simple bicycle...with one gear...and invincible tires...and never breaks. I'm not completely useless though. I once watched a fella fix a flat tire on my scooter in Indonesia. I felt like I learned a lot from him. Maybe we need good breakdown cover for Europe. Today's Photo - The rocks at St. Mary's Lighthouse If there's even a hint of a sunset in the UK, you've got to seize the chance and find a spot to take pictures, because if you don't, you could be waiting a long time before you see another. I called my brother at 6pm to announce the glorious news that we have a sunset this evening. I went to pick him up at work and we headed down to the coast. It saddens me that I've lived here for 27 years but I've never visited this spot. These are the rocks that sit to the left of St. Mary's Lighthouse. |
