Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Santa Maria in Cosmedin is the most important monument of the time of Adrian I. which exists in Rome. It is the oldest example in Italy of a basilica with three apses. It occupies the site of the Temple of Ceres and Proserpine, and was restored not long ago.
