Notes
  • Significance: Used as the post bakery through the 1930s and converted to office use during World War II. Completed April 24, 1902, from QMGO Plan No. 49-D. Original cost: $1,870. One story frame structure on brick foundation. Dimensions of main building: 44' x 22', addition: 9' x 22'. Simple gable roof with asphalt shingles (replacing original slate), metal ventilations. Open eaves with scrolled rafter ends exposed. Windows with six-over-six light, double-hung sash. Shed roofed addition to north facade (date unknown). Entryway reconstructed ca. 1940. Interior fully remodelled as office space during World War II. Ovens removed. Asphalt tile floors installed. Original heating system (coal-fired bake oven and box stove) replaced by oil-fired boiler. Electricity replaced mineral oil lamps ca. 1908.
