English: Eddie August Schneider (1911-1940) in Flying magazine on October 1, 1931. "Eddie Schneider entering the cabin of his Cessna plane with which he broke the junior transcontinental record." This image is of him landing in New York on August 25, 1930 at Roosevelt Field, Long Island, New York. The image was published in 1931 but was taken in 1930 during his transcontinental flight because the plane has the Atlantic Richfield logo on the engine housing. The logo was removed when he flew to Detroit for the National Air Race. |
