Description

Der Blumenkorso in Hannover war 1951 der Höhepunkt der ersten Bundesgartenschau (28. April bis 31. Oktober 1951): Inmitten von Trümmern und dem arbeitsreichen Wiederaufbau beteiligten sich weit mehr als 100 Gruppen, Vereine, Verbände und Firmen aus der Stadt Hannover mit blumengeschmückten Wagen an der Fahrt von der Herrenhäuser Allee zum Ausstellungsgelände an der Stadthalle. Rund 400.000 Zuschauer schöpften mit dem farbenfrohen Spektakel wieder Hoffnung für die Zukunft.

Das Schwarz-/Weiß-Foto wurde am (heutigen) Friedrichswall aufgenommen mit Blick in Richtung Leineschloß und Niedersächsisches Landesarchiv.
