| Description |
English: Schematic cross section through a sea breeze front. If the air inland is moist, cumulus often marks the front.
Français : Le réchauffement de l'air au-dessus de la terre est plus rapide que celui au-dessus de la mer suite à la différence de capacité thermique entre les deux milieux. Par ciel clair de jour, il s'en suit un flux d'air qui est montré sur ce diagramme. L'air chaud étant moins dense peut être repoussé en altitude par l'air plus frais venant de la mer le long du front de brise de mer. Ce denier sera le plus souvent visible grâce à la présence de nuages convectifs, de types cumulus, si l'air chaud est assez humide. En aval et en amont de ce front se trouvent par contre des zones de subsidence de l'air et donc un ciel généralement dégagé. |
