Item 200579, City Light Negatives (Record Series 1204-01), Seattle Municipal Archives. English: Seattle City Light Meter Division Christmas party, Seattle, Washington, 1961.
Quite likely that set of knife switches at right was not just for this lab: a longtime City Light employee says these controlled "the movement of electricity through the distribution system, to make sure that it is routed where it is needed and not overloading the grid at any congestion points. It is also used to reroute energy in the event of an outage." But it may well have been already inactive by this time. |
