Summary[edit]

Description

Page 115 of brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This page consists of text plus three photos (and a bit of decoration) collectively captioned "Cedar River pipe line. / Showing three sections of work being done by Pacific Bridge Co." The photos are also individually captioned. From top to bottom:

  • "Digging trench"
  • "Way the pipe is made"
  • "Completed section of steel pipe near Renton"
The middle photo has some writing at its lower left. Most of it is not terribly legible, but the name "Wilse" is clearly present in the way that Anders Beers Wilse frequently signed his photos.

p. 115 of Seattle and the Orient (more properly, Seattle …and the… Orient), a 1900 "souvenir" pamphlet edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen and published by The Times Printing Company (that is, the Seattle Times).

Scanned at 300 dpi; images cleaned up using Picture Publisher's "remove pattern" feature.
Author Book edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen. The top and bottom photos are uncredited, although the middle one on the next page has "Wilse" lettered on it (at lower left). That would be Anders Beer Wilse, so he is probably the photographer of the others as well.
