Title
Silver post-medieval medal
Description
English: A silvered copper-alloy medal. The medal is circular and decorated on both sides with what may be sacrificial scenes. The surface of the medal is silvered and covered with extensive patches of copper corrosion.

The obverse depicts a tree in the centre with two robed males standing on the right, facing the tree. The figure nearest the tree apparently has a beard and outstretched hands. He seems to be signalling or talking to a draped female who is seen pleading on the left. She has her hands together in front of her face and her knees are slightly bent, giving the impression that she is begging for mercy. The scene may depict Adam, Eve and God in the Garden of Eden. Below the scene in exergue are the letters ?AR[ ] or RR[ ]. Surrounding the scene is a worn inscription.

The reverse depicts a robed male figure on the left, facing right, slightly crouched and apparently holding or moving something on an altar or table in the centre. There is possible another figure standing on the right. Above the figure on the left is possible the word ISAIAH. The inscription around the scene is illegible.

This is possibly a German religious medal produced between the 16th and 18th centuries.
