Description |
English: Miniature watercolour of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada, in a locket. Hayward was an artist from Port Hope, Ontario. Having left an early life of farming, he is known to have painted a number of notables of his day, such as Laurier. He was an internationally known artist who exhibited at the Roayl Academy in England and in New York, and is thought to have spurred some revival of the art of miniature painting in the United States.
