English: Spoon, pewter, rounded bowl, six-sided stem, puritan or slip top knop, struck with makers touch inside bowl just below handle '(illegible)' additional comments- description- “Slip top.” makers comment- “Too worn to be identifiable, but probably English.” other comments- “A transitional spoon. It has the more-rounded 'Puritan' bowl of the second half of the 17th century that superceded the fig-leaf shaped bowl, and a slightly flattened stem, but not the wide Puritan stem.” Peter Hayward, Database Manager, Pewter Society, England, 28 February 2008
