CAMPBELL'S EARLY. Campbell's Early. Its strong, hardy, vigorous growth, thick, heavy, perfectly healthy foliage; very early ripening and abundant bearing of large and handsome clusters of excellent quality, com- bined with the most remarkable keeping and ship- ping qualities, form a combination equalled by no other grape. Its period of full maturity is from the middle to the last of August, according to the season, ripening with Moore's Early, but, unlike that variety, it has kept sound and perfect, both on and off the vine, for weeks after Moore's Early was decayed and gone. In dessert quality it is unrivalled by any of our present list of first early market grapes. It is, both as to cluster and berry, of large size, of a glossy black color with a beautiful blue bloom; pulp sweet and juicy; free from foxiness; seeds small, few in number and part readily from the pulp. 1 yr. 35c; 2 yr., 50c. Columbian. First brought into notice at the World's Fair, where it attracted great attention on ac- count of its extraordinary size. Vine strong grower, with large, thick, leathery leaves. Ber- ries very large and showy, fair quality, good ship- per, ripens with Moore's Early. 1 yr., 50c. Early Ohio. Very early, hardy and productive, strong, thrifty grower. Good sized bunch, berry srr'Uler than Concord; adheres firmly to the stem. A profitable early market sort. 1 year 20c; 2 years, 25c. Eaton. Seedling of the Concord. Bunch and ber- ries of largest size, showy and attractive. Leaf large, thick and leathery; berries round, covered with heavy, blue bloom; pulp tender, separating freely from the seeds. Hartford. Bunch and berries large, round, of me- dium quality. Very early, hardy and prolific. Merrimac. Bunch and berries very large, ronnd°, one of the most reliable; ripens early. Moore's Early. Bunch large, berry large, round with heavy blue bloom, vine exceedingly hardy. Its earliness makes it desirable for an early market; its hardiness partic- ularly adapts it to Canada and Northern portions of the United States; succeeds admirably in the south. 1 yr., 15c, 8 for $1.00. Wilder. (Roger's No. 4.) Bunch and berry very large; round, flesh tol- erably tender, sprightly sweet and agreeable. Worden. A splendid large grape of the Concord type, but earlier, larg- er in bunch and berry, and of de- cidedly better quality; vine hardier than that old stand-by, and every way as healthy. 1 yr. 15c, 10 for 85c. RED OR AMBER. Agawam. (Roger's No. 15.) Berries very large, with thick skin; pulp soft, sweet and sprightly; very vig- orous; ripens early. Brilliant. A remarkably handsome sort, about size of Concord. Skin thin, translucent, brilliant in color; excellent quality, healthy foliage, produc- tive. Strong grower. 1 yr., 35c Brighton* Bunch large, well formed; berries above medium to large, round; excellent flavor and qual- ity, one of the earliest in ripening. 1 yr. 15c, 10 for $1.00. Catawba. Berries large, round; when fully ripe of a dark copper color, with sweet, rich musky flavor. Requires a long season to arrive at full maturity. 1 yr., 15c, 10 for 75c. Delaware. Bunches small, compact, shouldered; ber- ries rather small, round; skin thin, light red; flesh very juicy, sweet, spicy and delicious. Goethe. (Roger's No. 1.) A strong, healthy vine, producing large crops of beautiful bunches; ber- ries large, pale red; flesh tender and melting; ripens late; very valuable in the South. Jefferson, Extra large, fine quality, large and hand- some bunch, medium size berries; ripens with Ca- ^ tawba. Lindley, (Roger's No. 9.) Berries medium to large, reddish in color; flesh tender, sweet and aromatic; ripens early. Massasoit. (Roger's No. 3.) A vigorous vine; ber- ries medium in size, brownish red; flesh tender and sweet; ripens early. Salem. (Roger's No. 53.) A strong, vigorous vine; berries large, Catawba color; thin skin, free from hard pulp, very sweet and sprightly; ripens first of September. 1 yr. 15c, 8 for $1.00. Vergennes. Berries large, holding firmly to the stem; light amber; rich and delicious. Is an ex- cellent late keeper. Wyoming. Vine very hardy, healthy and robust, with thick, leathery foliage; color of berry similar to Delaware, but brighter, being one of the most beautiful of the amber or red grapes, and in size nearly double that of the Delaware; 'flesh tender, juicy, sweet, with a strong native aroma.
