Text Appearing Before Image:
ording to Websters Dictionary, ivory is a white, opaque, fine-grained sub-stance, which constitutes the tusks of the elephant and is used in manufacturingarticles of ornament or utility. Ivory Soap might well be described in very similar language, thus: A white, opaque, fine-grained substance with whichAmerican housekeepers clean articles of ornament or utility. Another point of similarity between ivory and Ivory Soapis this: There is no substitute for either. For hundreds of years, men have tried to producesomething that would take the place of ivory; but theyhave failed. In like manner, hundreds of attempts have been madeto produce a soap as good as Ivory; but without success.Ivory Soap, like the substance whose name it bears, isunique—there is nothing like it. No other soap combines, as it does, the three all-impor-tant essentials of Purity, Economy and All -round Usefulness. No other soap can be used, with equal satisfaction, forthe toilet, the bath, and for fine laundry purposes.
